Career Technical Education
Welcome to the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Office. Sweetwater Union High School District (SUHSD) provides programs of study at each high school that involve a multiyear sequence of courses that integrates core academic knowledge with technical and occupational knowledge to provide students with a pathway to postsecondary education and careers. Each CTE pathway consists of:
- Pathway course sequencing that allows students to have work readiness skills and/or certifications within 2-3 years
- Work-based learning opportunities in the classroom and with local industry partners

Mission
The mission of the SUHSD College and Career Readiness Department is to provide exemplary Career Technical Education (CTE) programs that prepare every student to be ready and qualified for post-secondary education and careers in the 21st Century Economy. This is achieved through a coherent system of academics, work-based learning, and partnerships with industry, guided by:

- College and Career Exploration Guidance
- CTE Model Standards and Framework Alignment
- Articulation alignment with post-secondary institutions
- Commitment to fiscal responsibility
